6th Sunday of Easter
We had a great weekend with our new friend, Ray Jones, from the denominational center last weekend. Ray helped us explore God's call to evangelism, never an easy topic for many, but we learned that sharing our faith is more about being than about doing.
This week, we'll see that whole idea in action as we explore Acts 16:9-15 and see how Paul and others in the Early Church welcomed people and helped them come to faith in Jesus. The sermon comes from that text and is called, "Open Mind." We'll explore how this woman named Lydia, who was a foreigner and considered by many to be beyond the reach of God's grace, found her mind open to things she had never considered before. God is still in the business of opening minds, including ours. We'll explore that idea together.
We will also commission and surround with blessing the members and friends of our congregation who will depart for Puerto Rico on May 31. You'll want to be here to send them off with our prayers and good wishes! There are still a few spots to sign up to be prayer partners for these folks.
I look forward to worshiping with you this week. I know it's Memorial Day weekend. If you have out of town guests, please bring them to worship before you fire up the grill Sunday afternoon!
